It seems like the Mrs has a bad run with it about once or so a month. Although I'm the early warning system and listen to the traffic report on my drive home (every 10 mins) and if there is an issue with LGB i send her a text.
Small price to pay really and other good aspects of the north shore more than make up for it.
just my two cents of course....

It can be a pain at times but most days it's a minor inconvenience. As I say, if transit is used then it's fine. You just have to be aware of the fickle nature of the bridge and learn to live with it. Locals for instance know to avoid the area around Park Royal during the rush hour as marine backs up with those getting on the bridge.

Hope you all are enjoying a warm 3 day weekend and the fireworks. Cold and cloudy here in Birmingham.

Sure no problem, this is an email I sent someone else, I have copied and pasted it here for speed as I am about to go out for an Indian!..They asked about Granville, hence the focus on that at the beginning..
Well on Granville Island there is a public market and in there, there is an area full of stalls that sell masses of different types of foods from breakfast muffins to chinese! There is a public eating area, so you shop from any of the stalls then go sit where you like to eat, there is also seating outside by the water. The best coffee was from a little organic coffee stall and I can't remember the name...sorry!
Evenings, on Granville island there is a restaurant called the Sandbar, this is a fab seafood place with a great atmosphere.
Elsewhere, off Robson Street is Joe Fortes, seafood and Grill and this is our fav for no messing food, really buzzy and great beer and cocktails.
If you like Japanese we found this fantastic little place that has quite a following in Vancouver but not in all the guide books, it is calle Gyoza King. It is in the Westend, low down on Robson St, it looks really dingy from the outside and small and dark, but it was the best and cheapest place we ate!
Yaletown has a few strips (Hamilton, Homer st etc) Rodneys oyster bar was super cool, and the best of the patio restaurants we think is Bluewater Cafe + Raw Bar.
If you just want beer and nachos and a pub vibe then we loved Steamworks in Gastown. The nachos were enough for 3 to share easily...just ask for extra Guacamole!!
The place we found that was totally dreadful, bad food, the worst service EVER..and we were in Canada for goodness sakes was Hons Wun Tun House on Keefer..reviews online are bad too..
I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any more info. Here are the links to the places I have mentioned:

Cin Cin on Ronbson...poncy, over priced and up it's own butt
Cafe Crepe - chain I think..but lovely crepes!
Sanafir on Graville St - this is a tapas bar, looks expensive, but is quite reasonable. We had lovely food here and it is a really interesting place decor wise. You can pick and mix the menu and a trio of tastes was $14.
The Tea house in Stanley park is lovely, fresh, reasonably priced food, I had Mussels and chips...mmmm, the OH had fresh Tuna steak..and daughter had smoked salmon flat bread..all were superb. We stopped off mid bike ride and had a relaxing 2 hours here, munching and having some drinks..then wobbled our way back.
Hell's Kitchen in Kitsilano was a nice place..good bar food and very friendly service, even if they thought we were Austrailian..as most people did!
If you fancy just cocktails and want a bit of stuffy swish then the Fairmont is just what you are after...we stayed here the first time we went to Vancouver..amazing but the breakfasts were $40! We didn't eat breakfast there as you can imagine..we went to a place down the road which I can't remember the name of for the life of..bugger.
Out of Vancouver.....
We had afternoon tea at the Empress in Victoria..lovely experience, but the most expensive bun I have ever eaten.
At Parkville we ate in the restaurant of the Parksville Beachfront hotel, as we were staying there..we all had steak..it was lovely.
In Tofino, we had lunch at Breaker's Deli...best burito I have had in my entire life.
Reading this back, I can now see why I am 6 pounds heavier and a lot more pounds out of pocket...
Enjoy!

Cobre on Powell Street was probably some of the nicest food I have tasted! And the staff were great too

Just a quick question... Was this trip just to get your PR cards sorted out then? How are you getting hold of them before you go back for good?
