(Not for me!
)
Hi all, I have friends who are currently living in NS but are looking at moving to Ottawa in the next couple of years.
They are looking at Trenton and Kingston areas as thats where the husbands work will be. Any suggestions for good places nearby would be appreciated.
They are a couple with grown kids so don't need schools but are active in the social sense. They like a good pub and some nightlife and would like to be in easy access of the city for shopping etc.
They will need good bus links as she doesn't drive.
Thank you muchly

Not a lot of nightlife that doesnt involve country music, a good fight, or both.
Not much in the way of a transit system, Trenton only got a bus of sorts in the last couple of years. Belleville transit if better but not exactly the TTC.
Its a base town, with the problems and issues that go with that. Kingston has more going for it as a small city with Universities.
Dont get me wrong, I like where I live, but I dont really do nightlife and I drive.

Kingston is 2 hours away from Ottawa as well...

Google maps required !!
Trenton must be at least 3hrs from Ottawa and definitely closer to Toronto.
Trenton is a good hour from Kingston
I'd recommend learning to drive - who can exist without a vehicle I wonder?
Other than that Kingston or outskirts had to be recommended over Trenton and Belleville any day!
But if working in Trenton it'll depend on the friends sense of importance.
