Ontario medical question
I have been in Canada for 8 years now, but the entire time has been in BC and a year in Alberta.
My girlfriend is moving back home to Ontario at the end of the summer, and I have to make a decision, stay in BC and break up, or follow her to Ontario.
My biggest concern is medication. BC has program for psychiatric medications where medical services plan covers them so people can have a functional life and not worry about paying for expensive meds.
Without this program I could never afford them.
I have had trouble navigating the Ontario websites and can't seem to find the answer.
Does Ontario have a similar program in place?
If meds are not covered, moving is out of the question.

I can't answer your question but I suggest you put your question (or part of it) in the title so people don't assume it's just another 'Should I move to Ontario?' question.

Screw the expense, it's a world away from BC so move anyhow and suck in the extra exspence and enjoy what is Ontario. Yee ahhh.

Re: Ontario?
I wish I could, but I have a limited income as I am currently unable to work and if the prices are the same there for meds, the retail cost exceeds my current monthly income.

Re: Ontario medical question
Check out Ontario's Trillium Drug Program (see http://www.drugcoverage.ca/p_benefit_on.asp#2). It is a government-run fund that will sometimes pick up the tab for very expensive medications, etc. My brother gets a grant from them for his very expensive (25K a year) medications for MS.
Good luck!
Good luck!
So far it looks like it will be in my best interest to stay in BC.
