Some one else asked me this today, it's a nice area and the bonus is my brother is already there and I get to live in his basement rent free till I get established. He's a not so bad brother.

It seems to me that Oakville's rather an ethnic ghetto, inhabited by the sort of people who write to the papers and sign themselves "appalled". Tunbridge Wells; uprooted and plonked down in a foreign land.

For many years I was obliged to attend ballet recitals there, we'd sneak out to the patio of a restaurant and boggle at the uniformity of the people; it's another world from Toronto. I expect eventually they'll make the whole place a gated preserve.

The one thing that made me laugh wehn i took the test was the bit about hastings/croyden...
I was living in Bexhill( the very next town) I guess i must have been safe there!

As a property owner in Oakville, I can report that the Chair of my condo association definately appears to have come from Tunbridge Wells.

Oakville is very conservative, but having said that, it's still a great place to live.... :D
