HIya.....
We have a house in Westbank (Shannon Lake area). To be honest we don't know the area as it is just an investment property..However, our longterm tenants have two young kids and they all seem to like the area.....The kiddies go to the local elementary and everyone seems v happy....We also have friends living in/on Black Mountain and they are happy there....Frankly most of Kelowna beats most other places fairly easily....
Not sure about the job front though....That's why we are in Calgary!!!!
Good luck with the move

You'll be fine in Kelowna, there's lots of British people and British food shops. Familiar accents, conversation about the weather, Coronation Street and soccer. Chip shops even, what more could you want ?
No need to integrate at all, everything's set up nicely for the British misfits.

Lots of Albertans too at this time of year, in fact i'm sure Alberta must be empty right now as they were backed up from beyond friends pub all the way into Kelowna this afternoon just like the good old days.

AB is also void of RV's if my recent BC road trip is anything to go by.
