I don't like the things, but are becoming more aware of snakes living in and around Canada, i'm interseted to know are there many in NS, if so where? Have seen ukjo with a picture of one, but we want to live a bit rural, so are we lightly to come across these lovely creatures? I guess corky, ukjo and few others can answer this. My sister has lived in Canada for 20 years west and east and never seen one, so i'm hoping that will be me. :scared:

Don't worry, I've got the same fear of snakes too and you would never find me anywhere near any place where they have those huge big ones. As you know we live pretty rural and that picture you saw on our website is the only one I've seen and it was tiny. While the kids stood there petting it like a new pet, I screamed into the house but was reassured that there are no poisonous ones in NS. We get them here the same as in the Uk, just harmless garden ones.

There are rattlesnakes over in the prairies and BC ... I've been tent camping in prime rattlesnake country and haven't ever seen sign of one.

Looking at the weather, the snakes probably all drowned or suffocated under the snow in NS ...
