Please can someone advise if big name pop bands occasionally play in concert halls in N.S. or where would the closest place be to see a well known group play, or are there any festivals held at any time as they are in the UK - just interested to know. Thanks.

On the plus side Celine Dion won't tour here as nobody turned up to watch last time

I don't know much about music but I think the Halifax music scene is mostly buskers, for example, some old-dude called Neil Young plays there every now and again but I don't know if anyone goes to watch. Probably not.
U2 is going to Moncton soon too, but my life position advises me that waiting 3 hours to have a "civil" piss, although a challenge, is one I can't compete for.
Good luck

Depends what you mean by "big name pop bands"..
In the last 18 months we've had Billy Bragg, McCartney & The (English) Beat.
The Pixies are playing April 9th...
Recently there have been massive gigs from The Stones, KISS & Wintersleep (Natives)..
This years Halifax Rocks Festival has already confirmed The Black Eyed Peas & Weezer..
There are hundreds of local bands (some not so great & many excellent)..
Thriving Blues scene, thriving Folk scene & a thriving Indie scene...
