Smile Notarized documents

Hi can anyone help?
We are in the process of filling in our application for immigration (skilled worker class), does anyone know who can notarize or certify copy documents? Does it have to be a solicitor @ £3.00 per document or can I have a friend of mine @£0.00 per doc? He is a chartered certified accountant!

Any help gratefully received

Its either a solicitor or a Notary public, nothing else as far as I am aware. But London don't normally need them notarised from experience, but depends on where u submit.

I went and got all my documents signed by a solicitor - only to be told by Canada House that it really wasnt required !

I had faxed them that my proof of relationship to Uncle who in sailing somewhere could not get notarized copies

Hope that helps

yes, we just got a solicitor to do it. As long as it says 'I confirm that this is a true copy' or words to that effect. Most solicitors have a stamp with this on for conveyancing. We were a bit worried when they asked for the last 3 year's wage slips and they had to be notarised too! In the end we just sent the originals and they returned them to us, (they don't usually) We got the P60s notarised for free by a high street solicitor.
