Thats a great job in the cutting room, if you are really desperate.

When they didnt attract Canadians, they imported Mexicans, the Mexicans didnt like it and went home, so now they are bringing in Chinese.

Sorry to hear about your struggles,

I highly doubt that you will get someone to hire you. For most employers it is illegal. I suggest that you go back and get a visa through BUNAC.

It would be the same for a Canadian in England. If we didn't have these rules anyone could come and take our jobs and we would all be fighting over 6 bucks an hour.

good luck

But a LMO would take at least a couple of months (and potentially up to 6 months) so surely the Bunac fees are less than it will cost you to live without a job for that time?

It is illegal for all employers to hire someone without a legal right to work.

So you've been posting on here since January - your girl friend and you moved from regina to winnipeg - When are you due to go back to the UK?

If your planning on staying be prepared for crap and shitty time. As you'll not find anything legal until you've done something to become legal. If you overstay you could end up screwing yourself the chance to marry and live here as well. So bite the bullet finish your holiday go home get a job marry the girl and find out how to apply for spousal sponorship.

Or become handy with a very sharp knife.

Freepress had a story today where Tim hortons are trying to get Phillipine workers over on 2 year contracts because they can't get workers to stay in rural areas. Get paper call them up and try to get in Now.

worst case it will buy you some time before you have to leave.

This isn't just for Philipino workers! This is how I am in Canada on a 2 year TWP. A few months ago I posted in another one of Kris_66's threads all about how I got my TWP through Timmies. Not sure if he took any of my advise though, or if they offer this in the area he lives in.

Yep,took your advise for Timmies and even had a job offered to me on paper, from the owner, when i mentioned LMO,they looked at me like i was a criminal and immediatly pulled out.Someone else that worked there interviened and i ended up talking to that person actually. He was talking to me like i was a complete idiot and basically implied that i was making up the LMO story and everything i said was rubbish. They were basically just about to apply for an LMO till this guy stuffed it up for me.

Oh that is such a shame. Any chance you can talk to the store owner again and explain the LMO process to him/her. Maybe you could go onto the CIC website, and get the paperwprk for the LMO and show them that it can be quite simple. Maybe offer to organise the paperwork for them??

Due back in July.I knew this would be a shitty time but i didnt realise I'd get this kind of response.I've thought of the marraige route, but my girlfriend is 21 and she thinks she's too young to get married.Im not gonna give up tho,i came here for 6 months and im gonna use my 6 months even if it kills me in the process.I know this process can work because i've seen it work.I'll give up when my visa is up.
