Then in all honesty I don't see that you have any option but to return to the UK. You have to understand that even if someone wants to emply you, they have to secure an LMO (labour market opinion) through CIC which they will only get if there isn't a Canadian available to do the job you will be doing. The type of jobs you are talking about won't qualify. If you can't get the money together for Bunac then you are better off returning to the UK where you can work, getting the money together and applying for the bunac visa when you can afford it.

I keep reading some misleading comments about LMO.
The employer doesnt have to prove that there isnt a Canadian who can do the job/or who wants the job. They have to prove that they've tried to recruit a Canadian but failed to appoint someone. There's a subtle difference. It's up to the employer to fill the position with someone they think is the most suitable. If they can evidence that a foreign worker is a better fit than a Canadian, that's the main hurdle sorted.

I cant help thinking that it's going to be become increasing less attractive for employers to spend time seeking LMO's with the current amount of job seekers out there - Also, dont TWP's mean a fixed term contract needs to be offered that ties in with the permit. This might mean that laying people off if needed becomes more difficult for employers if it is the case. which might mean that they would rather recruit a canadian, as it is more flexible for them.

We just advertised a position at the place where I work - we had about 60 applicants, and at least 10 were from out-of-country, where the people said "might be willing to relocate"...I'm sorry, why the heck are you applying for a job in Cambridge, ON when you live in France, you don't have a work permit, and you "might" be willing to relocate?
Every resume we received from out the country that did not specifically say that a work permit would not be necessary got thrown out. We need someone local, and now, not in the future after sorting out work permits, etc.

For unskilled jobs employers need the workers right now, and if there are two applicants, one who can start right away and someone else who they have to apply to the government to employ, maybe, in a few weeks time..... well its easy to see who gets employed.
People with trade skills are having the same problems, as the labor market is a lot looser now, even in places like Winnipeg where the economy is still buoyant, there are people returning from Alberta who can fill jobs, making it even harder for those without work permits.

Well, you might get work ini Brandon at the Maple leaf plant.
They bring a lot of foreign workers into that job, but you might have to start on the cutting room floor, before moving into customer service
