Just found this site, we are hopefully off to Regina, Seskatewan in the near future. The other half is a truck driver and has been offered a job with Yanke. Just waiting for the go ahead from the Canadian government for Labour thingy.Keeping our fingers and toes crossed.
i also drive for yanke and although not the best company they have the best training package ,don't be fooled by the we are great speech they spilled to me and the rest of the brits that came over here, please don't be put off as you will find that they leave out a few bits off info .
despite that it's well worth it and you can do what most do tell yanke to stick it once you've got your landed
best of luck

Yanke seems to be more thought out and yes they probably leave bits out but there is residency to think of.

IF YOUR USED TO DISRTANCE AND BEING AWAY FROM HOME NO PROBS I'VE FOUND THE SUPERMARKET DRIVERS HAVE STRUGGLED A BIT . YOU GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN TO IT AS YOU ARE AWARE THEY PAY BY THE MILE AND A GOOD TEAM EARN A GOOD LIVING. DON'T LET TEM PUSH YOU ABOUT STAND UP TO THEM FROM THE START AND THEY WILL TREAT YOU WITH SOME RESPECT, DON'T BE AFRAID TO TALK TO OTHER EX PATS THERE THEY WILL ALL HELP YOU OUT.
MOST HONEST DRIVERS WILL ADMIT TO GETTING FED UP WITH IT IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS , DON'T GIVE IN SPEAK TO THE OTHER FRESH MEAT TRY TO GET A GUY CALLED MUZZIE AS YOUR TRAINER AT THE S'TOON HE'S A TOP BLOKE AND WILL HELP YOU OUT .
IT'S WELL WORTH IT
