Thumbs up Newbie saying hello

Just found this site, we are hopefully off to Regina, Seskatewan in the near future. The other half is a truck driver and has been offered a job with Yanke. Just waiting for the go ahead from the Canadian government for Labour thingy.

Keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

Hi Lorna

Welcome to BE
Good luck with the move to Regina.
You'll enjoy all the info and laughs here on BE.
We are hoping for a transfer/wp and hoping to go to Vancouver, but it might be Calgary.
Rob.

Hi Lorna,
and welcome to this great site, with very kind people to answer your questions.
We started on this site just after christmas and have made some very good friends ( I hope).

Just a quick mention, that there is a meet up organised at a place called Upper Arley near Kidderminster. A chance to meet fellow adventurers and to ask some questions and just to have a chat and have a bit of a laugh. If you look on this site under Meet & Greet, under "Midlands meet up", have a read and see what you think, we would all love to meet you.

Happy hunting (this site for info) and all the best for the future,
regards,
Carl

Thanks for letting us know. I'm on call that weekend so won't be able to make it. Maybe the next one. Hope everyone has a good day.

Bets way do do it, I think, one step at a time. Not really sure about time lines, we have just put our application in, in my wifes name. But I have had a few job offers (can't believe that bit), so just thinking about best route to follow, AEO or WP, I think it will be the work permit route. How long did it take you to get your LMO please? I have heard diferent stories about that, 4 weeks to months

What job are you going over with?

Sorry to hear you can't make meet up, I sure there will be aother one.
regards,
Carl

The LMO took about 4 weeks - my OH is going to work for Yanke in Regina hoping to go across in September I know some the the drivers hope to go in July - just up to the visa application process. We'll get that started today.

Thanks for the reply.
4 weeks for LMO, thats good. I think we are going to start mine this week.

Can they fast track your o/h's application? If he has a possitive LMO?

Keep us in touch and let us know how you do please,
good luck,
Carl
