hi everyone well its looking like ill be returning to Canada, its been a few years since I have been there and I'm wondering if ill need to try and retrieve my old sin number (pretty sure it will have expired) or will I just get issued a new one?

So this may sound like a silly question but does that mean my credit history will be gone too?

Not connected. Credit reference agencies may well have a file on you, but if it's beyond 5 years (or less) it's likely to be deemed irrelevant. You could always check with them to see where you stand.

They issued us with new SINs at the airport, and found my old one from 1982, to my surprise. It had expired, of course. So I guessif your old SIN is still valid they will find at when you apply for a new one.
