Hey welcome.
I am also a relative newcommer to the forum.
I have been in calgary for 2.5 yrs.
I would be interested in hearing what the citizenship process is like.

Once you have been a landed immigrant long enough and have accumalated all the days needed, just submit the application, its that simple really. Once they receive the app they will send you a book on Canada, just learn it and you will be fine.
Then, when they get round to it, they ask you to come in and do a test. What they send you is note saying please come to a test at "insert location here" for 1pm. What they actually mean is,
"Please come to "insert location here" for 1pm and queue up for 1hr, then hand in the document we sent you, sit down for another 30 mins - 1 hour, then we will go through your application with a fine tooth comb, then you will be allowed into the exam room, where you will have to wait for the last person to have their documents checked and then you can start the test, which if you have read the book we sent you, you should be out of the exam hall in 6 minutes."
Sorry, had the test last month.

They dont give you the results of the test, so the only time you will now if you passed is if you receive a letter asking you to attend the ceremony. If you dont get it in a month or 2, then you will have issues as your application has to be reviewed by a judge, which could take upto a year!!
