Well, if you are thinking of distance learning then you can do the Kingston thing. There's Ottawa of course. I imagine for work then you would need to be near a city and the 401. Dont head north unless you like midges!
I would say the 401 corridor along the lake would be good. Or if you want the culture thing then theres London, Stratford etc. but to me its too built up. I have got used to the openness of here. We have hills too, not mountains but pretty rolling hills and the lakes, dont forget the lakes.

Make sure all your electives from 100 level up are Psych ones....makes the transition to counselling soooo much easier. I am doing an M Ed; OH is doing an MSW. (Never the twain shall meet.) I will jump from Social Work as soon as I get that Masters, but I have done my time so I think that is OK! OH would cut his leg off before he left social work. Ontario is the place to be for career advancement in this field.

Yes I've been to Ontario. No I havent seen the whole Province. Maybe I am being unfair.
I havent driven every Pontiac, am I not allowed to say I wouldnt own one and recommend that people consider another Make?
I havent Tried every Indian restaurant in Calgary, am I not allowed an opinion on the quality of Indian restaurants in Calgary?

Oh stop. There is enough bitching on this forum to keep Joan Rivers happy. Everyone's opinion is as valid as the next bloke's. Who cares? Grab a beer and belt up.:curse:

You can say what you like on here, dislike Ontario, the whole of Canada even. It doesnt bother me. I just wanted to know why.
Are the Indian restaurants any good in Calgary cos they are abysmal in Peterborough.

I didnt say you were being unfair. I wanted to know what you dislike about the place. It might help others who are thinking of moving here.

No the Indian restaurants here are worse than abysmal (ok the ones I've tried so far). Which asshole told the 'locals' that butter chicken is a genuine Indian dish? When I find him he's dead:curse:

I'm told theres a very good restaurant an hour east of here on Highway 7, in the foyer of a motel. But thats in Bubbaland which is a weird place
Mrs M, avoid the east bit of Ontario around Highway 7, they be basic there.
( sits back and waits for local comment).......

You guys (and Mrs M) have had me laughing out loud here... ha! Funny and informative at the same time.
I too am trying to find that 'ideal' place to move me and my family out too.
Don't fancy anywhere with squiggly diggly (or whatever it was) music... or anywhere too basic... ha!! I am still laughing at some of your posts.
We have some strange places to 'avoid' over here in the UK... although it's the gold wearing pastie eating chavs you have to watch out for here in the midlands... ha!
