Default need ideas where to move next

Hi,
looking for some ideas where to move next. We started out in Regina SK, but did not enjoy the cold winters or the flat treeless landscape. Last year we moved around BC quite a bit but ultimately although we like it here, the job front is not very good for me! (building maintenance/ Plumber)
I have considered moving to Edmonton as there seems to be plenty of work but then we are back to the long cold winters.
Ultimately I am looking for somewhere that has trees, lakes or mountains within easy reach as well as affordable housing in the $200k range. The area must be safe and clean, and with a reasonable chance of getting work. I am currently looking at Cambridge ON, I would like to live in a smaller city or community. Any constructive advise would be appreciated greatly.

If climate is your priority then consider B.C. where it's warmer, less snow and more rain.

I had been going to suggest Ontario - and I see you're already looking there. Places like Cambridge are nice and when I was just over a few weeks ago (not Cambridge but Burlington/Oakville) there was no end of building going on. I would imagine its happening outwith the GTA though too.

Definitely in close proximity to lakes and trees.... no mountains unfortunately, which is biggest draw back for me, but I still nice

OK, we go to Cambridge every couple of weeks and it's become our example of all that's wrong with Indentkit, North America. "Would you choose to live in Cambridge or Brampton?" was a question we puzzled over last week. So, could someone please make the case for Cambridge? I think even Barrie looks less of a dump.

You appear to be looking for the impossible.

Anywhere with those attributes along with a $200,000 home is going to be someplace where the job situation is not at all good.

Cambridge specifically isn't my choice. I was trying to be a bit general when I said places like Cambridge. All I had been going to suggest was trying somewhere around the GTA might be an option, but the OP was already looking into Cambridge. Maybe they have reasons for picking there?

NB doesn't have lakes or mountains. Plenty of trees and rivers and people don't seem to be struggling in these recession times. But I have not studied employment demographics (sp ).

Maybe. And of course, if it's where your family are, then Barrie, Omaha, Tulsa, Cambridge, all might look bearable.

Very true - although that depends on your family

Guelph is nice, a tad hilly, but houses arn't very cheap, depends wot u want for 200k, wot about considering Windsor and the surrounding area's which is where I am, its flat, but you'll get a nice 3000sqft for around 200k, and they are about to start constructing the new bridge and road so there will be tonnes of work for you....and ya can travel across the border weekly to get ya food shop and save a fortune!!
