Well I have done one whole week here now and wha a week it has been. I I've got an Ontario driving licence, from a girl who I can only pray that she gets a personality real soon. My husband was at the next booth and his girl was very nice
Got a SIN from a very nice lady and only had to wait in line for about 20 mins
I have got a car, but waiting to collect it. Should be tomorrow, not in a rush bit scared of the roads
I have got a nice tan
Been to the supermarket and done a weeks shop. I hate supermarkets and always shopped on line at home, so I am proud of my self
Went to Burlington and ate at a very nice restaurant in the sunshine - food was excellent
Had a bit of a moment yesterday when I wanted to hug my daughters and grandchildren
All in all not a bad week
Hubby as started work today so on my own, filled this morning cleaning the apartment and I am going to the library this afternoon - life in the fast line eh

Hi Jacq and Brian congrats on surviving your busy first week
I hope you settle in quickly. Are you living in your new home already or do you have to wait a bit? Hope you enjoy the car - the roads are fine just do as the locals do - tailgate and cut people up lots of fun

well done, that's awesome!
out of curiosity; where'd you go to get your SIN - I'm very keen on only waiting a short time when I land

We went to Service Canada which is just off Dundas, I will get you the exact address if you need it. That was the closest to us. We even went at 12.30 whch we thought would be really busy but there was only 6 people in front of us.

Similar question. Where did you do your licence exchange? From the web site it looks like it can only be done at one of the few full testing centres none of which are downtown.
Thanks

This is the driving test centre we went to. We were there about 1.5 hours in total. You fill in a form with the person that see's you, have a picture taken and eye test all done by the assistant at their desk, pay $75 per person and thats it done. You get a temp license until your new one arrives, they keep you card copy to return to the UK and give you your paper copy back. If you wear specs for driving make sure you take them in with you.
