Are you any good with Borderline Personality Disorder?

A lot to think about but it is very hard for people like me to get back in to supporting oneself when you need to work from home.

Thank you everyone who has helped me, it is refreshing to gain support and understanding.

Welcome to BE!!
We've a great bunch of people on here - very supportive, understanding and caring. I've been a recipient of their support - as have others - so can speak from experience.

Here's a thought - and maybe a bit 'out there' but presumably you could work from home, online.. so have you considered getting into the social media / marketing type of industry to help support yourself in the interim until such time as you are able to resume 'normal life' ?

A Brave New World is calling.. embrace it!

I was reading that Online qualifications are not looked on kindly by all Provinces, so you may want to do a bit of research and ascertain what would be acceptable for licensing purposes, and what wouldn't.

However, I did find a list of Masters in Counseling Psychology available Online!

Fantastic, you are awfully kind, thatst some good research for me to get my teeth in to.

I'd very much like to do some online media yes, I am currently building a small FB page of inspiration as I cannot take money being on disability. I have to say, there are a lot of barriers that I neber imagined someone of my fitness, would ever have to face. Studying and earning is very very hard with the incurable illness.

Thank you so much guys, I've spent years fighting to be accepted as a young ish disabled person and I have to say, IveI never experienced so much understanding and kindness.

You are really very welcome.

That's one good thing about 'disability' payments here (generalising) - you CAN earn money - up to a certain figure - without losing the benefit.. There's lots of good info on the BC website on financial help if you have a disability..

You can read more - for BC - here.

I believe Saskatchewan have a similar policy - and probably some of the other Provinces.
Do double check about 'household income' as opposed to personal income. Some Provinces will take the household income into consideration when deciding whether you qualify for any assistance.

These may be of interest to you -

Thank you very much indeed.

I need to work out if I would be entitled to some help at first, and I'm thinking the answer would be no. This is the problem with illness, if you get ill, there are so many barriers to returning to life.
It's certainly hard enough to get past losing your health, abilities, outdoor activities and choices you had. When you get sick, you get given hurdels as if being sick wasn't hard enough, you lose friends and family too.

Thank you so much for your help
