seems overly pro English !
The East is not that bad a place to live and has some really good predominantly French areas.
Areas: Mile end, plateau, etc. all French not mentioned
Montreal is pronounced Mon-Ray-Al not Moh Royal.

It is the policy of the government of Quebec to impose the use of French language throughout Quebec society, from school instruction through to the workplace. Ostensibly this policy is designed to protect and preserve the language but in retrospect has proven to be overkill. However, English is still widely used and accepted in Montreal, particularly in the western suburbs. Most people in Montreal are indeed bilingual in Canada's two official languages, but many will expect you to at least attempt to speak a little French.
suggested corrections
1. ... but in retrospect has proven not only to be total overkill but has negatively impacted non-french speakers being attracted to the province
2. Many are bilingual but it is a stretch to say most are
