what is glossed over though is as per previous stats and link posted on here, there are over 2,000 bites annually. so thats 2,000 people rushing to get the anti venom and shitting themselves that they may not get there in time. no thanks.

Are you more concerned with dealing with them as they speed off to the hospital or being one of them.

thats an excellent point, though i am assuming aussies drive like canucks. just substitute a can of fosters for a cup of timmies, a stupid hat with things dangling of it for a toque, and leave the gun rack in play.

Maybe its just one unlucky person getting bitten 2,000 times a year.

At the risk of mentioning this, I know of two people who were bitten by redbacks who did not get anti-venom and lived to tell the tale. One was a grown man (our mover actually) who couldn't be bothered and the other was a 5 year old boy and the doctors in the emergency room said he didn't need it in his case.

Not that I'm advising anyone to forgo anti-venom...

And the nuclear stuff is just nutty...

Yes most people bitten by venomous spiders can still survive without anti venom or medical treatment
