I've no idea whether it's deserved, but Microsoft have developed a reputation for hiring immigrants over American programmers, so I'm not surprised by this at all. Just another reason why a lot of American programmers I've met hate the company.

Isnt this the same the world over,, having worked in IT at Abbey/Santander - they specifically employed programmers, IT workers from India rather than the UK.

Why is that?
Cheaper or better trained and having a different logic or mindset enables them to be more adpative to coding.
After all one of the oldest languages in the world sanskrit is supposed to be the best AI formated.
/just a thought.

Cheaper, I'd imagine. An H1B visa only allows you to work for one company, so you have a strong incentive not to upset your employer and get laid off and sent home.

I can't say whether or not the H1B people I work with complain a lot nor if they're well trained. I can't understand anything they say.
