I bet you the majority of people who voted for Marmite are from the UK and the Vegemite fans from OZ/NZ.
But I without doubt..... PROMITE is the best!! Hands down...........

Now as someone who like Marmite I have tasted Vegi-Mite and found that it is not an alternative to Marmite - it is horrible. What are the opinions out there?

I've never tried vegemite but I've just received a small jar from a my Canadian friend who's living over there. Not sure what to do with it though - much like my jar of marmite.

If you do not know what to do with your jar of marmite you could always send it to me

Just had another thought - if you dont like the taste you could always get some friends around for a Marmite tapping competition - then try with the Vegimite. Perhaps even conduct a scientific experiment to see which is the best for tapping.

Can't imagine just sitting there tapping away all evening or whatever....on a more sad note I have tried this exciting event for myself...you put a blob on the side of a plate - a large one is best cos it's more exciting
Then you tap it with a knife and it makes that gooey sound ...and eventually if you're really good ...it turns white!!!!!!
How sad is this ha ha

MARMITE is superb. I take a 500g jar to have with my breakfast every time I go to India, and I am just looking to see if I can buy individual portions, to save on the weight. As for Vegi-mite - it's like comparing the best out of OXO or Bovril - Bovril ugh!

That's true dedication to yeast.

Yes hopefully the poll will clearly show my point that marmite is far superior.

Yes but is it a higher plane or a lower plane??
form my point of view it should be catagorised along with train spotting, lorry spotting, pylon spotting etc.
However I have heard that Canadians like to stick thier tongue to cold metal for a lagh so perhaps their are lower levels.
