Marmite vs Vegi-Mite

OK here is a good one to get personal opinions running. If there is one thing you can definitly say about marmite in the UK it is that people love it or hate it - and from what my staff tell me here in the UK the same thing goes for Vegi-Mite. Now as someone who like Marmite I have tasted Vegi-Mite and found that it is not an alternative to Marmite - it is horrible. What are the opinions out there?

My cooking is on a higher plane - the problem is that some people have not evolved a suitable pallat to appreciate it.

Given the origin of most of the people that would have tried one or both of these products the result of this poll is a foregone conclusion.
BTW Vegemite is one word with no hyphen..

When I taught Statistics I used to always tell my students that a survey should be done in such a way that you can prove the point you intend so think about the target sampling audiaence and the the questions carefully.

All the more reason to vote. Let the minorities stand up and be counted. It is up to the majority to out vote the minority so the skew is not too great.
Also wish I had bought some Marmite wth me - not easy to find around Kamloops. the 25% have more sense than me.

Both Marmite and Vegemite are readily available in most Safeway and Superstores in Calgary.
I'm almost embarrassed to admit I've never tried either.

Funny - I noticed that Google searches for marmite - pages from Canada returned a load of French links. Does this show that the English and French actually agree on something????

If I find Marmite in the Superstore I will let you of never trying either. However if I cant get them in my local store I think you should pay penance by sending MArmite to all those that cant get it locally - starting with me of coarse
Going up that way tonight so I will take a look.

They've moved Marmite in our local Superstore - if you scan the archives and take dbd(33)'s suggestion of looking in the yeast and baking section and can't find it, try the spreads section. Looks like one smart Superstore employee (now there's an oxymoron) has finally figured out what the stuff is, and put it where it belongs
