Worst that can happen the airline refuses you boarding. Once on the plane then end of story. May result in a bit of a wait if referred to Immigration once you land.

Just a wee update - Got a picked out from the crowd at the Cuba airport and a good grilling from Cuban immigration about my expired pr card on the way out then another good one at the airport on the way home . CBSA at St Johns airport didn't even mention the fact my card was out of date

Wouldn't do it again though , was getting a bit worried I was going to be sent straight back to Canada again
