Just out of curiosity, what exactly do Cockateils do on vacation in Nova Scotia?
Please excuse my ignorance but do they have interest in a beery barbecue on the deck, a nice walk along the beach, a day out visiting lighthouses or hiking Cape Split? Do they write postcards to loved ones back home while soaking up the rays or go out hunting for souvenir teaspoons and fridge magnets? Do they make good travelling companions and, if so, how?
Also, how does one take Cockateils to vacation in Nova Scotia? Do they fly alongside the car/plane/train while being towed on a piece of string, do they squat inside a cage mounted on the roof of the vehicle or simply sit on one's shoulder for the duration of the trip?

Many thanks for the quick replies, amazing that folks can be so eager to assist, all be it with humour/humor ? and good advice.
I have the "official" website details but was rather hoping someone who had been through the process could enlighten me as to any difficulties encountered.
I believe after the necessary paperwork has been obtained then from New England we would have to route through Houghton Maine and be inspected prior to "driving around" as I believe birds are not permitted on the St John to Digby ferry.
I await with "baited breath" for
further replies ???
Thanks for assistance, John

Ponhook, could one ask how long you are going on vacation for? I only ask as where I presently live, I have great neighbours and we all look after each others pets...I am presently caring for the two moggies next door and the two Maine Coon cats across the road for the next couple of weeks. They are all much happier being in their own home, with me popping in to visit.
You are getting a smidgen of humour as a while back a man proposed transporting his parrot to Canada, but got very huffy when he found out that it would have to travel in the hold. It was the most wonderfully funny exchange in BE's history IMHO. So it's not you who's engendering the humour...that being said, your misspelled thread led me to think of cocktails too! So cheers!
