Hey guys,

We had our passports and PR forms returned in Feb this year and are looking to make a move out to Vancouver around May/June time.

With 2 little ones we are looking to rent short term in Vancouver, till we find a place where we are initally happy to settle.
We have been waiting for mls.ca (aka realtor.ca) to come back to live post-olympics for rentals but they have nothing showing !!!
We know there is Craigslist and have found one or 2 others like rentboard.ca which have some rentals.

Can anybody point us in the direction of some 'diamond sites' that might be able to help us out in the area, or is it just that there isnt much to rent nowadays in Vancouver ?

Good rental sites for Van seem to be pretty thin on the ground. Try http://www.sublet.com.

I am thinking of moving over to Vancouver in June too. Havent seen much on the web - guess the olympics are messing things up. Let me know how you get on.

Craig's list is as good as any, but NEVER part with any money until you are 100% sure that the place being offered exists, and the person asking for the money really is the landlord. NEVER send money that cannot be traced - Western Union is the scammers method of choice.

It is difficult so secure a private rental while you are still in the UK. Also, many landlords will want a 12 month commitment. Shorter-term places can be very expensive. Many people chose to stay in a suite hotel for a month or so while they find somewhere to rent.
