Sorry, I meant to say that I was not a gas fitter, and I did not live in Vancouver, so I was not in a position to answer your questions. But I wanted you to feel welcome nonetheless. So I wanted to greet you even if I couldn't help you at this point. I did not mean to imply that there was no gas in Vancouver.

Hi from Chaz in Reading. I've just hooked up to this web site and your query was the first one I've read. I'm on the final stages of immigration to Vancouver I've just been asked by the high comission in London to go for our medicals. Anyway you are looking for a job in gas ( you should have no trouble getting a job as there crying out for trades men )try this site www.jobsearch-in-canada.com Shadi Norman is an immigration & employment consultant she found me a job as an electrician in vancouver her rates for also very good her contact number is (604) 320-0962 she's top class . We started to file our paper work in June 07 and within 2 months we where accepted Shadi is now putting us through for permanent resisance this should be in place by the time we go on a research trip come April. If you have a job offer the whole process will talk between 6 & 9 months good luck PS just mention me if you do contact Shadi hope this helps good luck chaz

hi apples,
have you applied for permanent residency yet? I think your trade as a plumber is one of the skilled trades that Canada is looking for. I applied nearly two years (not with your skill, obviously) and I think I saw plumber on there because my brother is a plumber. I'm pretty sure you can apply for immigration under the 'Skilled Worker' category (that's what I did). Or as Chaz has advised it can take faster if you secure a job prior, so that may be the best route for you.
Anyway, I'm still going through the immigration process but if you need any help going about the application for immigration, I'm happy to offer whatever I know to assist you, if that helps.....
Kind regards
Elizabeth.
