I am unabashedly prejuiced but one can not find this level of humour in North America.

Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, the Two Ronnies, Benny Hill, are a few which come to mind.

This thread is adding a whole new dimension to the forum. Think Peter Ustinov with less hair.

Oh but you can! If you can get BBC Canada (cable or satellite), some on PBS like Benny Hill

Only one of those I've not seen on TV is the Two Ronnies

I'm getting laid off from my nice comfy job of ten years in June - it's kind of a voluntary arrangement.

Haven't really done anything useful apart from push papers and avoid my upstart Scottish junior for the last couple of years.

I hear from a bunch of people who skipped the UK to get away from IR35 (blame the Scottish upstart) that Canada is a great place to go if you haven't any useful skills - lets face it (smiles ironically for the camera, pause) I don't know what I can do that is useful.

Maybe I could open a B&B in the atlantic provinces?

Or maybe be a teacher in the prairies?

Any ideas welcome!

PS. Could you sponsor me?
