Hello BEs
I had a few queries regarding the 'landing' process in Canada and was hoping for some valuable advice / links from you all. So here goes:
1. Is there a checklist detialing the documents one should carry while landing in Canada? From my research it shows the following are essential - passport, COPR, proof of funds, accompanying goods and goods to follow lists. Is there anything that I have missed?
2. Do we (my wife and I) need to carry filled application forms for PR card, available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...ons/prcard.asp while landing at the airport?
3. I have read quite a few posts where new PRs have faced delays in receiving their PR cards due to "photo issues". What exactly are these photo issues? Is the photo specification guide provided at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...des/5445EB.asp the most current and accurate one?
4. Proof of funds: On landing, should we show funds amounting to atleast CAD 13,837 ( for two people as mentioned http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra...lled/funds.asp ) ? Do we need to carry all the funds with us or 50% in cash/TCs and the rest in form of a UK bank statement suffice? The funds in the UK bank statement will (obviously) be in GBP.
This forum has really helped us in planning our move across the pond and hope that you all will provide your valuable input on this ocassion as well. It will be even better, if anyone can post official cic links answering any of these queries.
Thank you all
Ben

Welcome to BE
This link will provide answers for Customs purposes
http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/d...d2-2-1-eng.pdf
The PR form does not need to be filled out on landing. Once granted landing copy 1 of the COPR is sent off and your PR card is mailed to you providing you supply a Canadian address or inform them within 180 days of an address.
All depends on who took the photo and does it meet the specifications.
Proof of funds not always required as lots of PRS landing still need to sell their houses but you may be asked for one.
Lots of PRs use wire transfers and carry little cash on arrival.
Hope this helps.

One quick query, will we have to carry photographs with us for the PR card? if not then which photos will CIC use for putting on PR cards?
Thank you

CIC will use the photo that is affixed to copy 1 of the COPR that is sent off by CBSA upon completion of the landing process.
