Just out of interest is it commutable from K-W if my OH got a job in Toronto? He's used to doing long distances to work, he currently drives for around 90 minutes to get to work here in the UK.

It might be feasible to drive to the end of the GO train line and catch a train or even to take the VIA train but either option would depend on having reliable hours; something uncommon in the computer business.

My dad use to commute to toronto from kitchener for years. It makes for a very long day for the person both in terms of working hours and time spent in traffic coming in and leaving toronto at certain hours of the days. My dad worked odd hours to be able to miss the high traffic times. He was a systems analysis! So it is doable but consider carefully whether its worth it or not!

Yes, that is a very adept description of life commuting from kitchener to toronto every day. My dad was very happy to get a transfer to the kitchener office so he no longer had the commute, and now tells us he would never ever do it again!
