One of the things the weather stats don't show is the freaky weather ... like the hail storm that did $4K damage to my car in under 10 minutes or another that destroyed all the roofs in the neighbourhood.

Does Kamloops get seriously freaky weather??

I know BC does - I've been in Kelowna twice now when "50 year" storms swept down the lake ... and of course Vancouver had a whole inch of snow last winter when it got down to -10C (Calgary t-shirt weather).

I've not seen any. We get some thunder and electrical storms in late summer (which often don't result in any rain), but that's as far as it goes in terms of 'freaky' stuff.

Never seen hail here, nor fog. Rainy spells of more than a few days are rare too. Late afternoon tends to see increased winds funneled up westwards from the Coquihalla direction, so it can feel blustery for an hour or so, but generally it calms pretty quickly.

I used to do a lot of work for a customer in Edmonton - they still talk about how badly the tornado trashed their Sherwood Park office.

We get hail storms that strip the leaves off trees, smash skylights and dent cars ... never seen golf ball sized hail until I got here.
