Considering applying for a job in Kamloops at the moment - driven through it a few times on the way to the coast, never stopped there.
Wikipedia makes it look very nice - anyone out there who actually lives in Kamloops willing to volunteer an opinion?

Yes, I live in Kamloops. Is there anything in particular that you need to know?
I first drove through Kamloops in mid Feb and thought it was a dirty looking red neck town. Then R I C H gave me a guided tour and it completely changed my opinion of the place.

Already got a potted review of Kamloops from RICH
My first impression driving through was "wow, it looks dry here" - says a lot coming from Calgary.
I'm just trying to find a job with a company that won't go bust within a year and in a town with a good quality of life and a stable economy.
In the eight years I've been in Calgary I've been laid off twice and another employer went bust ...

We got offered jobs in Kamloops when we were first applying to Canadian companies prior to moving over.
They were practically begging us to take them - totally freaked me out!! That was summer 2006 though so slightly different economic times

I'm open to suggestions right now - we live in SW Calgary and as my wife keeps telling me, she hardly ever leaves the community.
Moving to a city with 90K people doesn't look too bad an option now - might be different if I was moving from somewhere lush & green, but I've got used to our arid climate.

I even have a job search on Workopolis that includes Nunavut ... now that must display some sort of willingness

When Neil and I drove through Kamloops we loved the look of the place, we both thought we could easily live there.
We stopped there and had a look around, there is something that appeals to us both about that place.
Can't put my finger on it though.
