Hi

I read about that on someone elses thread awhile ago.

Its a traffic light that means a pedestrian initiated light ie they maybe crossing so watch yourself. Look and then proceed if safe to do so.

That must be a B.C. thing. I have never seen one in Alberta. Thinking about it, I have never seen one in B.C. either

I've seen them before in BC but find them pointless.

In NS a flashing green signal is the same as a green left turn arrow. It means you have right of way to turn left, as the traffic opposite is stopped. It can also get faster, to indicate that it's about to change.

It means that the light is a pedestrian control one - it flashes so that you know that as you approach it a pedestrian might push the button and it will turn to yellow / red.

It is a BC thing and means completely different things in other provinces.

Hi All,
Just got my motorcycle licence category back at the north van office, $17 and there was only an eye test, no theory questions, and a new photo licence in the post within two weeks.

I would suggest anyone doing it does so quickly as reading the ICBC site.....

..... you can only change in the first 90 days of arrival to BC,and are from quote ... most UK locations ....

http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing...ntry/Australia

I was half expecting to get turned down, so be quick before they read their own rules...
Cheers
Jerry

A friend of mine successfully got his bike licence added last week, after being in BC for over 3 years. I went today and was politely told to piss off. I pointed out their inconsistency in applying the new regulations, and just got a shrug.

I have been here 15+ years and ICBC told me they would do me a swap for my UK bike license.

They told me that last week too - when it came to sorting out the paperwork today, they said I'd have to go through the theory and road test.

It would be worth trying a different ICBC office - they are inconsistent in how they apply the rules.

Not sure I can see me on a bike again, so maybe I won't go to the bother. I'll stick to aeroplanes, far safer

Hi
Curiosity, did they actually give you a temporary paper licence, before they sorted out the paperwork.
Cheers
