Ferry from SEA to Victoria (if it still runs)?
.....Then there was the problem of being knackered and out of time for the day to be able to continue our journey and having to find somewhere to stay for the night before carrying on up by train to Courtney.

......As it is we leave the UK at 1050 am and arrive in Comox at 350pm. simple as but we pay the price. It just irritated me that the price hike could be as much as £200 each more for exactly the same time period but a year apart.

This is the first time ever that we have been able to go for consecutive years.......giving up smoking in 2007 really boosted our coffers. Usually it's once every 4-5 years so we wouldn't have noticed the price hike of flights 4 years apart.

I have done the ferry trip from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay before - lovely journey.

Did the Victoria to Seattle ferry too back in 1980 too! They do still do that crossing.

Thanks for your help though.

ok, got a new flight with Icelandair. Thursday 29 July Halifax to London (change at Reykjavik) £1425 for 3 adults 2 kids.

Next cheapest Canadian Affair £1885.

Would have been £150 cheaper, but CA failed to call me back on Friday, so led to a costly delay in booking. Clearly I am less than impressed with CA, seeing as it was their false flights in the brochure that led us into this mess in the first place.

The guy at Icelandair said lots of flights are now more or less fully booked - 24th July to 28th July couldn't accommodate all five of us.

Anyone still wanting to get a cheap flight Nova Scotia/UK needs to do so quickly I would think.

Just look forward to the day when we don't have to leave.

Must go......hockey is back on!
Robin when we booked a couple of years ago we found out it worked out quite a bit cheaper if you book London to Comox with Air Canada instead of London to Vancouver and then on to Comox.

Hi Gloveman....yes we have booked it all the way through. I only put it that way because lmartin may not have known that this was where we were ultimately going. Thanks though.

Update on refunds from Jetaway cancelled flights, from travel agent:

"I have spoken to the Trustees today. They have all the cheques in their possession and have their checking to do/ My guess would be a week to 10 days."

Angry Re: jetaway to canada bust?

Hi just been reading this thread and I was wondering if anyone could help us. We booked flights to go to canada this July (from the UK) for a friends wedding and only a week after booking if that we got an email saying the firm Go Travel Flights had gone bust. Luckily we did book on our credit card so we thought we would be covered however the credit card company is asking us to forward on the liquidator details. With it being a canadian based firm we are finding it really difficult to find this information and have tried to explain to the credit card company numerous times that the firm is not based in britain. Does anyone who has got/going through the process of refund been able to find out this information. We can't afford to purchase another ticket until we know that this one has been refunded. Thank you!

The refunds are coming from the Trustees via whoever you booked with. This is why the credit card company won't refund your money. They would only do so once proved that you weren't going to be refunded from another source.

Contact whoever you booked with. If you get no joy with them, phone David Hammell at Cappell Travel (phone no earlier in thread). He is very helpful.

Just an additional information we tried email the email address that is on the website to try and get the information as all the contact address/telephone numbers for the company are not being answered and we just get an anomated reply saying 'Please note that we will only be sending out itinerary and e-tickets and will not be responding to any emails'. So bar an email saying they have gone bust and to arrange a refund through the credit card company we haven't been able to get any of the details requested by the bank from Go Flights.

We booked on the Go Travel Flights website. It is really frustrating to be passed around and for ourselves to be asked to find information that we have no way or knowledge of finding. We have been told to contact numerous people including the office of fair trading in the UK, who have all said because it is a Canadian company they can’t help! Is Cappell Travel just dealing with Jetaway debts or is it for Go Travel Flights as well?
