Simon, everyday goes by to fast, unlike you we spend part of our winter in Florida, we like to have Christmas at home, we did not get our citizenship until 1978 and at that time we had to take the test and yes you could fail, one lady from Ireland could not answer all the questions right, but they did give her another date to try again.

I was exempted from the test as I was a British subject. We got special treatment in those days. However, I believe that there were such questions as: Where is the basement located in a three storey house ? Where does rain come from, Eatons (there was one back then), USA or the sky ? The real tough one was what is the average per capita consumption of ketchup !!!

Hi Simon,
Welcome to BE, great to see you are back in NS. I live up on the Malagash Peninsular, so not far from you. Are you going to the Blues Festival this weekend, it looks like it will be good fun? We are trying to see if we can get there for one of the days/eve. The Jubilee at New Glasgow was good fun last weekend and the fireworks spectacular, especially the ones like a waterfall across the bridge. Not seen them that good in a while.
