I've had enough!!
#1
These days, everything here in the UK just seems to be all doom and gloom. There seems to be little joy in anything wherever I look and I think i've had enough.
I look around on here and I read all these posts from people who have made the journey to pursue their dreams of moving abroad and I feel somewhat envious. One of my friends moved across to Canada, Calgary about 9/10 months or so ago with his Canadian girlfriend (now fiance as they are engaged) and he's loving the life he's setup for himself there.
I don't face the same hurdles that many people here face in moving to Canada. I'm already a Canadian citizen courtesy of my grandfather, so I just need to fly there, get off the plane and find a job. So what the heck am I still doing here???
Sorry about the rant thread guys, I just needed to have a vent and say a few things. Need to get out of here and get myself to the Great White North!! Better get my CV updated pronto then and start putting out employment queries!!

Believe it or not, you're currently sitting in the best country in the world! imo - i'd trade countries with you in a heartbeat - the grass isn't always greener - but seems you have nothing to lose, so hop on that plane and come see for yourself. What's the worst that can happen? you don't like it and go back.

Isnt live with regret the name of ex wives and husbands who then proceeded to take you to the cleaners

So what is stopping you moving back? Its ok to rant and vent but if it is that bad then DO something about it. Dont expect sympathy off this site

Not so simple when you are married to a Canadian and have given birth to Canadian children whom are of an age to have a "voice" on the subject and have alot invested here (not talking money)
You can't only consider your own feelings at my stage of the game.We will return one day, sooner rather than later though and it's currently at the back end of the planning stages - so, thanks for all your advice, dunno what i'd have done without it

Crack on with the Scottish slagging, we "Jocks" have never heard it before

You have to do what you have to do, you are lucky in that you don't have to jump the hurdles! Will you be able to get off the plane and find a job - a job that will pay a decent standard of living?
After a week back in the UK, I must say I didn't see the doom and gloom of which you speak, but then I didn't watch the news or read the newspapers much. Out and about in Cambridge I remember commenting to my sister about the vibrancy I was feeling, that seems to be lacking in my adopted part of the world. I also didn't see the amazingly cheap prices for everything that others preach on about...
Take a look at the Moving back to the UK forum. One country isn't better than the other, it's just different, sometimes that suits people, sometimes it doesn't and you won't know unless you try it
