Re: Interviews
Well done Celtic Warrior on getting the interviews (three !!!). Good luck on all of them, especially the one you want.
May I ask what the jobs are ? or at least in what line of work you are being interviewed for ?

Re: Interviews
Thanks for that Celtic Warrior. Quite a heavy and specialised job. No wonder you're in demand ! Wish I could be so lucky but I'm in IT and not as specialised as that thus not as much eager to recruit from overseas. Hope to get better response when I'm actually over there.
Would love to hear from anyone who may have bagged interviews and jobs in IT whilst in the UK though (sorry to hi-jack your thread Celtic ). Just find it so hard even to get a response !
Keep us updated on whether you get the jobs mate. It's good to hear good news from anyone

You have a good skills in itself Trouncer, i think you just have to be patient and persevere ! It has taken me about 18 months to get to this point. You really need to be phoning perspective employers, and telling them why its in there best interest to employ YOU
I have a friend in it in Novs Scotia, i will ask him if they are hiring, if they are, i will pm you.
good luck

Re: Interviews
Thanks for that Warrior. However, my sights are on Vancouver. Your right about being assertive and being pushy to get a foot in the door. These day's, I don't think you get very far from just sending CV's out and waiting/hoping for the best. It's more to do with 'pestering and networking (so I hear).
I did actually get an interview whilst there on holiday earlier this year but I didn't get any further. I think age is against me in my case although I know it shouldn't matter. I think people find a way of getting round any legislations on agism.
