Hi
I wonder if any one can tell me which airline takes big dogs as excess baggage. i know there have been 1000's of threads but things have changed recently and I've got mixed up with who does what.
Thanks

What do you mean by big? If the weight of the dog and travel crate/kennel combined is >32kg, they can't go as excess baggage. We were able to ship our whippet-x as excess baggage (that was with Air Canada...and they still take them as excess baggage, I believe) but our large black lab was too heavy and considered cargo (far more expensive!)

Where have I read that the weight is up to 70kg including crate, or is this the cargo max. Surely it can't be cos you would struggle with a St Bernard etc.
Still confused to some extent

Depressed now
The dogs are over 32kg each, but i was under the impression that almost canadian booked the dogs on himself. Does this mean that he booked them as cargo but on his flight?

Looking in this thread: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...=444485&page=2 it looks like he paid over 4 grand and went through a pet-shipping company, as cargo, but yes, they travelled on the same flight.
