Dear all
I would like to introduce myself as I am new to this, I came to Kamloops in July 07 after waiting 3 years to emmigrate to Canada, I am really struggling with meeting people and feel quite lonely at times. I was wondering if anyone new to the country lives near me or I can start some nice chats with people going through the same as me.

Hi there...
I have a pen-friend (well... digi-friend!) in Kamloops and she's trying to persuade me to come there rather than my chosen destination of Regina, Saskatchewan. From the photos, it looks beautiful there. I hope you're not lonely too long.

Hi
Ive lived in loads of places.
Here's what I do. It's not for everyone. Im a bit of a one-off.
Sorry if my suggestions are a bit "blokey".
1. Join football/rugby/karate/boxing/swimming club(s).
2. Do a night class. Or day class. Or whatever.
3. Buy the local bartender drinks in exchange for information. Choose a quiet night.
4. Join internet dating site (they're only people like you and me!)
5. Go up to strangers and ask them an "im new in town" question.
Remember -
1. Canadians like to help folk out
2. Once they hear the accent they'll ask where you're from and - BAM - you're chatting
3. ALWAYS thank them for their help/time etc.
4. If they ask for your number pretend you are so new it isnt connected yet - but do get their number or email.
5. If you meet again, go for well lit public places
Get a job. ANY job. If you already have one organise a work BBQ, night out, trip, 5-a-side - whatever it takes. Ask your boss or HR for help meeting the other people.
In six months from now you'll be laughing. Good luck.

I'm in Blind Bay, not too far from Kamloops.

Hello and welcome to BE, not in Kamloops but will be happy to chat online, I`m new to Canada too. I moved to a small community 3 weeks ago and haven`t even met my next door neighbour, but it`s early days. Keep posting you never know what will happen.
