We had a claim on our UK House insurance in 2005, and we have found that it still gets taken into account by some companies when shopping for home insurance. ING definately took it into account.

that I couldn't understand why they were so calm. Looking back, I suppose there wasn't much they could do. I understand the 'sick' feeling. Rest assured you're justified in feeling angry too. Best of luck.

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear you were a victim of crime. I understand how you must be feeling. It's horrible that some scroate had the gall to do that to you and your family.
However, if this had happened in the GTA, you probably would have had the same reaction from the police. They would most likely do the report on the phone and give you a reference number to provide your insurance company should you wish to make a claim. I'm not saying I agree with it, it's just that in the GTA, police services are so short-staffed, and unfortunately these kinds of crime happen too frequently, therefore they don't have the manpower to attend every call, they have to attend on a priority basis.
