This is "private" Most doctors that work on the NHS, also work privatley, you can always buy there time, if 10 minutes is not enough!
You have to use the nominated doctors, but pay for there time privatley. That is why the appointments are out of their "normal" practice hours.
It is the same as we paid. You also will have to pay up to 75 pound for X rays and about 45 for blood tests. Some people have not been told this until they turn up for their X rays and get handed the bill so be ready if you have not been informed. We were, but there were others when we went that had not, and got a shock! they thought the 150 was for the lot. It isnt!!

Doesn't sound as though I've done too badly then listening to you lot.
It's actually £110 for the medical and £40 for the chest x-ray.
Sounds like I got off lightly. Still seems a lot though.

Amazingly expensive for half an hours work, we went to Canada for them and paid $220 for a family of four in Vancouver city BC. Poor buggers that have to do them in UK. It only was a cursory look over by the doc too, seems like its a lot more involved in the UK.

That was $220 Canadian about ten shillings and six in old money.
