How child friendly is Toronto?

How child friendly is Toronto?
Hello all,
My husband and I are potentially relocating to Toronto within the next year due to his job.
I initially posted on here that I wanted to maintain my nursing qualification, but I now think being a mum is the best job in the world, so will stick with it!
By the time we get out there, my son will be just over a year old and my question is, how child friendly is Toronto?
I would very much like to have more children so my question applies too Mother and Babu groups, classess, days out, community centres, etc.
It would just be nice to get an idea of what's out there!

Now to your op... I live in rural Ontario, small town of 15,000 two hrs north of Toronto. It is like kid Central. An early yrs project funded by the government means that their is literally something to do every day of the week, playgroups, library, swim sessions. They run family dinners in the evening, lunch twice a week at playgroup. I have never been bored here...

If you're in Toronto the traffic's no bother. Trams, subways, restaurants, all very child friendly. If you move out to a 'burb that's another matter but in the Beach or along the Danforth one can take one's sprog to all manner of stuff without a car and so without having to deal with traffic.

Toronto and suburbs are wonderful for children. Whatever you want/need is there for children.

I'm not in Toronto either, but libraries and the Ontario Early Years Centre are a good start. If you end up somewhere near a hippyish/natural baby store, they often have groups and events too. You could also look at the YMCA, Facebook groups.
