Default house prices in Kamloops/Kelowna

we've done some research, and we are coming over in the summer. Kamloops I am favouring, Kelowna, my OH is favouring. Question is, Ive looked at all the housing prices and roughly (scream at me if you will) the price for a decent 4 bed detached is it approx 500$ or is this a little on the low side...? or I am hoping high side.....

Kelowna's pricier than Kamloops, perhaps by as much as 20%.

$500k will get you a perfectly nice house in Kamloops, and with prices dropping, it's a reasonably good budget. Really depends on the neighbourhood you're looking for and if you want an average lot size or something bigger.

I would agree - $500k in Kelowna will not go as far as it does in Kamloops. Kamloops seems a much nicer place to live as well. More "normal"...

Oi just cuz you're a moderator now you don't have the right to call us Kelowna folk "less normal" Of course it's pricier here we like to weed out the rif raf and send them Eastwards.

i'm not sure 'less normal' is a bad thing... normal is boring.

'tis why i am heading to vancouver, irrespective of the cupboard sized housing solutions $500k can buy.

Yes we had the thaw and then it kind of stopped. Temps are not cold as such but just enough to coat our entire drive and road in black ice this morning. My son fell over stepping out the door and i nearly did too then we proceeded to spin the wheels all the way up the road it was lethal.

Just wish this damn Nova Scotian fog would go away, we haven't seen sky or much at all for 3 days solid now!!! Please take it back.

I'd first like to read a definition of 'Normal' .. before comparing "K-town" with Kelowna!

It's been foggy here too, but this morning there was thick hoarfrost on everything, and it was incredibly beautiful. Too bad I didn't have enough time to take a photograph

I once heard that there is more than one London.

I didn't believe them though.
