Homesickness
#31
Well I dunno ... I give the homesick guy a call to invite him round for an evening of HD TV World cup on a BIG telly ... and a dish of chilli to help things along, and he's been and gone and gone out!!!
Hey Butch, if you read this tonight.... there will be an England game at 6.30 am tomorrow that Al is getting up to watch ... I might even be persuaded to cook pancakes for brekkie, if you don't mind sitting among the boxes cos we're mostly packed up!

Just wondering as we've been here 3 months now and not had one ounce of homesickness yet
Early days though I know.
Does it just hit you one day? Or is it a gradual buildup?

I was totally focused and positive and have "mainly" remained so. The odd short lived bout of homesickness in the first 9 months or so, usually when I feel ill or the weather goes a bit crappy, but it soon passes.
Now 13 months on, we BOTH feel pretty settled and couldn't give this up in a hurry.
Yes, the telly here is BAD, but we didn't come here to slouch in front of the box....................not an issue with us really.!

home sickness quite often happens around christmas time or other times when it us usual to be with your family. it does come in waves and goes away again. Make sure that you get lots of visitors and talk to your UK friends and family regularly. I have lived in many parts of the world, some good some bad and it has hit me on occassions wherever I have been, so enjoy the fact that you are feeling positive and happy!!!!!!!!! good luck
