Don't know about the broth and black bun....but a few liquid refreshments are probably in order. Heading for a pub called 'The Spitfire Arms' of all places....downtown Windsor NS. Have a good trip on the 8th ,yes can do!
Did you receive my PM the other day ? Our e-mail appears to be a bit dodgy....ever since getting hi-speed via satelite........anybody else had this problem???

Oh Gosh! ... I remember Gale force winds like that when I lived over there. Actually, I lived in Bathgate myself for a few years, so I know it pretty well!

I miss home when I look over these!!!
Tell you what though most of the celebrations were cancelled anyway so I'm glad I always celebrate at home, the Edinburgh one was cancelled a few hours before the bells because of the winds.

We had intended staying at home but was invited to our neighbours and was there til around 3.30am..... Feeling pretty tired yesterday I can tell you

I felt for the people of Edinburgh (and tourists) when I heard they were going to be cancelling the street party, due to high winds (up to 70mph) ... one of the most focused events in the country, come New Year!

Oh well, sure they'll top it next year.

It's been cancelled before, people are going to stop going if it keeps happening. What I felt sorry for is that in Glasgow they cancelled hours before people turned up and they kept saying the one in Edinburgh is still going ahead. You could tell that it was going to get cancelled but they left it until the last hours after everyone had turned up.
