Looks like we both should start a new trend for Hogmany 2007. Saying that, NS is more Scottish than Scotland so maybe the NS peeps on here are busy making the broth and black bun and getting the beer and whiskey in :D

Re: Hogmany

Some pubs "try" to celebrate it but fail miserably when compared with a traditional Scottish Hogmanay.

Re: Hogmany

Isnt hogmanay just the Scottish word for new year? So if you've hear of new year you heard of hogmanay.

I shall miss new years with my mum more than i missed her at christmas but we will be our webcams at midnight UK time to have toast with her. We wont have anyone to first foot here and i havent seen a lump of coal in years but i will be seeing out the old and in with the new year and new country, new ways. Though this having crackers and silly hats at new year rather than christmas is a hard one to take!

Well its pretty horrible up here near Aviemore tonight :(

Earlier it was high winds and lashing rain, now starting to freeze :scared:

I'm on night shift so will be having a mug of tea for the bells !!

Best Wishes to all for the coming year :D

Hey there Adbru!

I remember Aviemore with fond memories! .... Myself & the lads from work went up there back in 2001 on a 'lads weekend' .. it was a scorcher btw! I'm trying to remember the pub which had the tables outside (main one in Aviemore I think?) ... They had a nice wee bakers as well. We stayed in one of the older traditional hotels with the go-kart track behind it! ... you were always awake by 8am with it, although we put in a few laps there too (traditional & bullet karts) ... I always remember the nightclub, where one of our younger lads decided to go up to the police car sitting outside, with attempt to turn on the charm the the WPC "Alright Darlin' ..." We also met up with a crowd from Carnoustie (spelling) ... who were terrific!!!

Great weekend & lovely part of Scotland!!

Well Sivox, if you were in Livingston you'd be blown away!

Currently sitting in Bathgate with horizontal, gale force winds - with any luck we'll get blown to Canada. :D

Happy New Year to all when it comes!!
