Hi Folks

Hi Everyone, I'm currently waiting for an LMO, to apply for a work permit for PEI. I'm not sure about a number of things, so I thought I'd ask some questions of some people in the know.
I've used forums on occasion, so I'll keep this post to "Hello!".

Our main worry is money. We are wondering about what we need to declare as proof of funds, and whether we need to make sure our debts are cleared before I get my wp.
Unitl my LMO come through, I'm not considering anything else a problem, lol.

Also they just need to see that you could sustain your self for a while but to be honest, they didnt seem that concerned, as long as theres no drain on them.As you could work there shouldnt be a problem.

You don't need to show "proof of funds" is you are coming over on a work permit

Thanks everyone
Good bank statements... I'll have a look. If AlmostCanadian is right, that should be ok. I'll be making money, so they shouldn't be too bothered.
We're going to Charlottetown. It seems that we can get to Halifax quite cheaply (depends on your definition of "cheaply"
), but going from there to Charlottetown seems to cost an arm and a leg
. what would you reccommend?

the transport on the Island is pretty limited !no train and only Charlottetown has recently started a bus service!
people have a car or use taxi a lot

ok, thanks again vee. We do intend to start driving as soon as we can, but for now, we'll have to make do. I guess that if there is no bus to Charlottetown, we could get a taxi from Summerside, lol. We were in Ontario this year, so we kinda know what to expect from the taxis.

Hi Umpteenth!, just wanted to say hello really, other half and I hope to relocate to PEI one day soon and neither of us drive although like you we hope to as soon as possible so it'll be interesting to see how you get on in and around Charlottetown via bus/taxi. All the best for your adventure ahead.

Don't know if anyone's still watching this thread, but just in case...
I got my LMO! I'm still waiting for polise certificates, and also for a passport for my new wife
Any ideas how long the police certs are likely to take? (I'm in the West of Scotland if that helps)
Thanks
