Thank you all who expressed concern over my llama.
She survived the night ok and we managed to catch her in her holding pen this morning.
we had intended to put her in the barn with her brother but things didn't work out as well as we had hoped.
After we had walked a few steps she through an absolute wobbly and turned into the psycho llama from hell.
In the end we had to let her go and leave her where she was.
Now tomorow we have to build a shute all the way down to the barn, about 50 feet so we can herd her into her winter quarters.
On the bright side at least we didn't loose our electricity here so we have been able to refresh ourselves with frequent cups of tea throughout the drama.

It was a bit windy here in Eastern NL as Noel came through yesterday but nothing really out of the ordinary. The track of the storm took it to the west of the Island so the West Coast got it worst. The Wreckhouse (SW Newfoundland) reported winds of 180km/h!!
I've just despatched Mrs AX on the first flight to Halifax as unfortunately her grandfather passed away over the weekend. The friends she is staying with in Beaverbank may not have power until tommorrow sometime so she's taken a torch and warm clothes!

Thanks for the thoughts for Mrs AX. It's been a tough few weeks as her other grandfather passed away in October. They'd both had long and full lives though.
Anyway, lets get back onto the thread of Hurricane Noel stories. According the the Globe and Mail it's all to do with La Nina and we're going to have an interesting winter!

Does anyone really know what is going to happen weather wise?
It seems not, on the one hand we have the quoted above, yet Environment Canada says for most of Canada it will be a "normal" winter for temperature with "normal" to "below normal" precipitation for most of Canada.
Has anyone read what the "Farmer Almanac" is calling for?
Cheers
Steve
La Nina's atmospheric mischief also changes the nature of the jet-stream air current that flows across North America from west to east, altering its normal path.
The results on this continent can mean a mixed bag of sometimes wacky weather: On the West Coast, it could mean even more precipitation – southern B.C. is currently soggy with rain – as well as a longer and colder winter, a combination that already has ski resort operators feeling hopeful.
In other parts of Canada, including the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, La Nina has in the past brought colder winters and massive dumps of snow.
