I've seen 'labels' in Sears and The Bay where the clothes were more than the same things in, say, Debenhams or Lewis's but they were just as likely to have good quality stuff for similar prices.
Last time I checked for Levi's at a Levi's Outlet (discount) Store in the UK they were about £60...so you're getting quite a good deal at $20! Of course, being over the age of 40 the opportunity to wear jeans in Britain is rare, so it is a bit of a moot point.

Completely echo the sentiment about Levis. My husband loves Levis jeans, the jeans in the UK were about £80+.

The jeans, when not on sale, sell at The Bay for $79. Still cheaper... and when they go on sale you can get them for about $40.

(But Macys in the US sells them for $40 normally. )

There's a Tommy Hilfiger outlet I visit when I'm at home - they do great sales, my husband and I got jeans there for $25, and lots of really nice tops often for like 2 for $25 and that sort of deal.

Certain specialty European brands (for example, shoes - Clarks, Mephisto, Birkenstock) tend to be cheaper in Europe, but most bigger American brands will be cheaper in Canada (and USA).

(I use Levis and Tommy just as an example of where the prices are cheaper - I generally could not care less about brands... I like to look nice, but not so much that its going to cost me an arm and a leg. I love going to the Tommy outlet though because it's good quality clothing for pretty cheap prices.)

depends which route you apply under.. but guess about 3-6 months to pull together an application and about 18-24 months to get your papers through.

Very different, depends on area your coming from and to and age of kids.

Assume difficult, but not impossible. In general its about proving yourself and actually showing face, emails and long distance applications need to be followed up with calls and visits.

Its a completely different system.. Try looking up scotia bank, they have a good program for immigrants.

Depends completely on area, almost impossible to compare. Generally wages are higher and cost of living is higher so it off sets.

Canada is a mixing pot of backgrounds... there is no place for divide unless you create one.

Can't comment on this yet.

We brought our dog... not difficult at all. Difficult to explain the change to a dog though... if they are nervous disposition it will be tough on them.

I believe there is an aura cleanser on this site. If that occupation can qualify, anyone can. No offence meant to the cleanser, just illustrating a point as to the relative difficulty for the OP with an extreme example. That's all you need to know about immigration.
