Hi everyone,
We are pretty new to the area and we are in need of a babysitter for our 5 1/2 year old daughter for the occasional evening out including this Saturday (which is a work function with my husbands new employer). A couple of mums at school have said they would recommend someone but no one has got back to me, and being the new person I don't want to be pushy. Can anyone recommend someone? We are prepared to collect and drop off said babysitter if this helps.
Many thanks for any assistance offered

YOu would really leave your child with someone from an internet forum?

No of course not but I am looking for recommendations and information from people on here which is better than looking at kjijiji. Thanks for your concerns about my parenting

I think most people just take them down the Legion with them. As long as they don't run around too much it should be alright.

Have a look on kijiji, as there are usually ads on there.
Welcome to the area, and if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. We have two girls (5 & 7) and live about 15 mins from you.

It's no different to either putting an ad in the local paper / or responding to the desperate cries of a local teen wanting a babysitting job.
At the end of the day pretty much anyone they meet and by whatever methods, are going to be strangers. It's just up to their judgement as to who they use. I don't see anything wrong at all asking on here.
